Herd Wisdom: Learning Healthy Boundaries from Goats & Chickens
Animals communicate boundaries clearly, calmly, and without shame.
In this unique nature-based workshop at Anchor & Bloom Farm, participants will explore the concept of healthy emotional and relational boundaries through observing and interacting with goats and chickens.
Led by therapist and herbalist Bethany Handfield, LICSW, the workshop blends trauma-informed education with experiential learning on the farm. Participants will observe herd and flock behavior to understand how animals communicate space, safety, and respect.
Through guided reflection and gentle experiential exercises, guests will explore their own boundary patterns and practice tools for setting clear and compassionate limits in daily life.
Participants leave with:
• Practical boundary-setting strategies
• Insight from observing animal behavior
• A printed Boundary Toolkit
• An Anchor & Bloom Farm Protection Salve crafted with supportive herbs
This workshop is educational, reflective, and deeply grounding.
